Search Engine Optimization Tips
· Make the keywords bold. Use <b> </b> tags around some of the keywords on each page. They shouldn’t be used everywhere the keywords are used.
· Deep linking. Make sure to have links coming to as many pages as possible. It tells a search engine that your site has lots of worthwhile content. It also tells a search engine your site being shallow or the links being generated by automation rather than the value of the site.
· Social bookmarking. Make it easy for the visitors to social bookmark the website, creating important links valued by search engines.
· Newsletters. Offer articles to publishers who archive them. The links stay alive in the archives.
· First come, first serve. Include text links along with image links in the navigation bar. Make sure the text links show up first in the source code, as search engines follow the first link they find to a particular page. They do not follow additional links to same page.
· Multiple domains. It might be worth having multiple domains if you have several topics that could support their own websites. Usually, search engines list only one page per domain for any given search and one might warrant two. Directories accept only home pages. So this way, you can get more directory listings.
· Article exchanges. Although much more useful, article exchanges are like link exchanges. You publish someone else’s article with a link back to their site. They publish your article with a link back to your site. Both of you having content get high quality links.
· Link Title. Getting title for a link not only helps surfers know where you are sending them, it also helps search engines figure out the relevance of a page.
· Anchor text. Overdoing the anchor text makes the inbound links looking the same and automated. Avoid it.
· Site map. A site map should be linked to and from every page on the site. This helps the search engine find every page with just two clicks. A small site needs a site map that’ known as navigation bar.
